Sponsor our dogs this International Dog Day

Published: August 14th, 2021

Thursday 26th August is International Dog Day and this year we are asking for your help after what has been the most challenging time of our 15-year history.

That’s why we are asking you to sponsor the dogs in our care, for as little as £5 per month, by joining Team SAFE and becoming one of our valued, regular donors.

International Dog Day is dedicated to the celebration of dogs everywhere, including those who don’t currently have a home or family to call their own. Here at Stray Aid, our Dogs Home is split into a few different blocks, keeping different dogs with different needs separate, such as those who are lost and looking to return to their families, those who are are waiting to find their new forever homes, as well as those who are undergoing specialist vet treatments and need a quiet place to rest.

Over the past 18-months, we have seen a huge fall in our ability to fundraise in our communities, and many of the stores, markets, and highstreets from where we used to fundraise are still not ready to welcome charities back. On top of this, fewer of us are carrying cash, meaning there is less spare change to donate to charities in need of the funds.

We would like to thank all our supporters who are already donating each month through Team SAFE. It is your donations that are allowing us to continue helping hundreds of dogs each and every year.

We have seen a huge spike in demand for our dogs home here at Stray Aid over the past few months, and we now have around 60 dogs on site, all of whom need individual care and attention.

We would not be able to care for so many dogs if it weren’t for the generosity of our supporters. If you are able, please consider joining Team SAFE and donating just £5 per month. By donating £5 per month, you will be helping to keep the dogs in our care safe, warm, and well-fed, covering their basic needs including daily exercise. If you decide to donate £10 per month, you will be helping to fund even more of our vital work, allowing us to give each dog in our care more attention and specialised support. And by donating £20 or more per month, you will be helping us and our onsite vets give pain-relieving and life-saving treatments to any injured dog or cat who arrives at our kennels.

PLUS, if you are a UK taxpayer, please do remember to tick the Gift Aid box on our online donation form. This will mean the UK government will donate an extra 25% on top of whatever amount you choose to donate. That’s an extra 25p for every £1 you donate, completely FREE. You can find out more about Gift Aid on the GOV.UK website.

Thank you for thinking of us and the hundreds of dogs we help each and every year this international dog day. We wouldn’t be able to do what we do without you.
