Happy 90th Birthday Betty!

We all know that Stray Aid simply could not have survived into its 15th year if it hadn’t been for help from our volunteers and supporters. Some have come and gone, others have stayed with us through good times and bad. A shining example is Betty Priestley, who along with her husband Les, set up our first charity shop, in Church Street, Seaham, in 2010.
Sadly, Les is no longer with us, but Betty soldiers on 5 days a week, come rain or shine, because she understands the value of the great work she does. We have so many vulnerable dogs and cats that need our help, and support from volunteers like Betty literally keeps the charity going.
Betty had a landmark birthday recently – she turned 90! She certainly doesn’t look it but she says that volunteering for Stray Aid keeps her looking and feeling young!
Below is a photo of Betty in her favourite place, behind the counter at the Stray Aid charity shop in Seaham, where of course she spent her 90th birthday, being visited by a steady stream of well-wishers. We cannot thank Betty enough for her passion, dedication and support.
