Cattery Heating Appeal

Published: January 16th, 2021

At the start of 2021 we had some very cold nights, with snow and ice covering the ground by morning. With this in mind, we took the decision to upgrade the heating in our cattery with a new green-energy system. This means the cats in our care will be toasty and warm. On top of having warm cats, the running costs of the new system will be considerably lower than our current setup, meaning we should see significant long-term savings, not to mention how great it’ll be for the environment as well!

Overall, the new green-energy boiler and its installation will cost us just over £14,400.

We would like to thank our Pets at Home partner stores, at Hartlepool, Bishop Auckland and Dragonville, for their in-store fundraising efforts through Support Adoption for Pets Santa Paws, for contributing £7,927.50 towards the new cattery heating system. This means we only need to raise an additional £6,472.50 to cover the entire cost of this project!

Help us raise £6,472.50!

With 2020 being such a tough year in terms of fundraising, we need your help to cover the cost of our new green-energy heating system for our cattery.

If you would like to contribute to our appeal and help ensure our cats are kept warm on cold winter nights, please use the below CAF form to donate. And remember, if you are a UK tax payer, you may be able to add Gift Aid to your donation!

If the form does not load on your device, you can complete your donation on the CAF website.

About our Cattery

Our small rehoming cattery has been a part of Stray Aid since we moved to our current site almost 15 years ago. But it is important to know that our charity can only take pre-arranged handovers and cannot accept any stray or feral cats. If you are concerned about the welfare of a cat and do not know who their owner is, the RSCPA has some advice on what to do on their website or contact Cats Protection on 03000 121212
